I am doubing about buying a laptop with i7 and a 256gb ssd or a laptop with i5 and 1tb hdd
I use it for documents, video and photo editing, but also surfing on the internet to find information

Solution
I am staying with 1TB hdd until prices on SSDs drop.
Go with i7 instead of any gen i5, but look for 8GB DDR4 instead of 16gb DDR3.
and a/c wifi, and 17".

I7 and ssd all the way. Now that being said I'd probably take a new 8th gen i5 over a 6th gen (or older) i7.

SSD speeds are insane compared to HDD, say goodbye to booting up in minutes when you can be logged in and working in seconds. You can also always upgrade the drive to more capacity later or use an external hdd.

Thanks for your help, but what if the drive can't be upgraded and having a external drive is awkward to carry?

Both are huawei's matebook d and both processors are 7th gen and I am a college student and I am on my own in an erasmus so I don't have much money, so I decided to buy a budget laptop for documents and other proyects and then I found these two good ones and I decided to check them out but when I saw those contradicting specs I doubbed as I do video editing I'd prefer with large hdd but I might have to do things quick so an ssd might also de good.
