I have a Gateway ACPIx64-based PC with an AMD E1-1500 APU with Radeon HD graphics 1.48 GHz. Can it be upgraded to something over 2GHz? I found a site that scanned this computer for possible upgrades and it says I have a series SX2110G. But they were only interested in selling memory and hard drive upgrades. I don't know if this is helpful or not. I scoured the case and found additional data. Complete model number is SX2110G-UW23 with serial number DTGEPAA00232408CC3000.

Solution
I found an answer to this problem. The processor is up-gradable, but only to 1.75 GHz with an AMD E2-2000 processor. I even located one on Amazon. Problem is, it ships from Hong Kong. And the listing talks a lot about soldering it in place. I know the same processor is also used in laptops where it would most likely soldered in. But would it be the same processor for both applications? My information shows a socket number, so it is not likely soldered.
