What is the cause of the Insignia Roku 55 inch Television just going dark but still having sound. The television picture just went dark and is only visible if you are right up on the television like your are reading a book close up to your face. What would be the problem?

The backlight on TV went out. You could try to use the TV with another video source to verify the same issue occurs.
You will need to get that fixed hopefully through warranty or replace the TV.
