How do I move music from my iPhone 5s to an iPod or a MP3 player?

I do not have enough room on my phone, as we do not have SIM cards unfortunately, and I keep running into the problem of having no free space on my iPhone. That’s not acceptable. So I would like to move all of my music or at least most of it for now to the other device. Is there a way to do this?

Solution
Typically, the easiest way to do this is to find a common medium, often a PC. Move all your music from the IPhone to the PC and them from the PC to your choice of other options (IPod/MP3 Player).

Just know this (unless Apple has changed it), the ONLY way to move the music is via iTunes and then, only PURCHASED music. If you ripped your own CDs and pushed them to your device, you CANNOT pull those back down. You'll have to re-rip them and send them to your new device. Again, this COULD have changed, but last I know of (one daughter has an iPhone), this was still the case.
