I'm attempting to watch movies being played on my phone onto my TV using a 3.5mm jack with 3 rca. What should the TV input method be set on?

You need several facts to be true for this to work:
- your phone must support that, either thru a special cradle, or additional adapter
- most high-end phones can output HDMI thru an adapter
- your TV does not have a HDMI input, so you will need another adapter.
If I was you - I would just save some money, and get new TV. You'll need to invest close to $100 in adapters in order to use your current TV (and this if your phone can be used for that).
