I have hp pavilion 15-au620tx laptop with configuration- i5 7th Gen , 8 GB ddr4 ram and 2 gb Nvidia 940mx graphic card. I play only one game on my laptop that is cs:go. In game I used to get 120-140 fps but from few days when I play game then I get constant 60 fps no matter what the video settings. But when I restart my laptop and then I play game then I am getting 120-140 fps. Tell me what to do.I am very frustrated

I assume the problem appeared with no change to OS or apps. I would recommend then to focus on background processes - i.e. I would perform scan with MSE, Avast etc. Do you have installed any antivirus?

check your temperature while gaming, use gpu-z or msi afterburner (but dont activate any options for overclock, just monitoring)
if the system overheats it will decrease the gpu core clock and gpu memory clock and thats send your fps way down

its a dust problem, like your vents problably filled with dust and the gpu cant operate in high temperature for much time.

try play a game with msi afterburner opened and see on the screen if the gpu temp go too high (like 100 ºC up) or if the gpu core clock and gpu memory clock decrease
do this after a restart

if this happen, your lap´top is overheating and you might have to clean it (its easier to send someone clean it because laptops are too easy to fckup when opening it, sending to some shop u take outv all the responsabilities)
