I've been using Acer Aspire E1-470 laptop for 4 years now, and I would like to buy a new one. It is a very crappy laptop, so I understand what I want. However, I only have a budget of 600usd and from my experience of using my old laptop, my requirements are:

-Intel i5 processor with around 2.5 GHz
-Quad core
-8gb of RAM
-Nvidia graphics
-1TB HDD

I mostly use my laptop for gaming, but I also use it for school. Just follow my requirements. Those are the priorities. So, feel free to give me your suggestions in the comments. Thanks a lot!

If you want a system for gaming, you are a bit low on a budget for that, another 100 or 200 will get you a good system for mid quality gaming.
For $600 you have 16 hours from now to get this https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-GeForce-Graphics-i5577-7359BLK-PUS/dp/B06XFG7157/ref=pd_cp_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=HVGRRDFM2W2326GVKZXX&th=1 It has a slower drive though, you may want to buy a solid state for it at some point. Can't really beat the price though.

For a bit more you can move up to a solid state drive or a 1050Ti card for other models.

The Dell Inspiron i5577 as recommended by hang-the-9 is you best option as long it is purchased before the sale ends. It has a quad core i5-7300HQ CPU and a GTX 1050.

The above Acers both have dual core i5-7200u CPU and either the nVidia GTX 950m or the nVidia mx150.

Most game are limted by the GPU rather than the CPU, but there are games that can take advantage of more than 2 CPU cores. In those games the Dell will perform better because it has a quad core i5 CPU. The GTX 950 is the weakest dedicated graphics chip of the three mentioned in this thread. The GTX 1050 is definitely the most powerful being about equal to a GTX 965m. The mx150 is generally in between the GTX 950m and GTX 960m. That because means the Dell has the most powerful CPU and GPU of the three laptops.

Had two laptops with dell and I will stay away from dell. The specs are good looking but dell laptop is not that good quality wise in my opinion. PC gets BSOD, dead HDD, broken dc jack and mb dead without any major/heavy usage, still randomly freezes after serviced by Dell. The other one frequently freezes even after clean OS install and dell check no issues found. Your call.

I am currently using two Dell laptops. A Dell Latitude 3540 released in 2013 and the more recent Dell Inspiron 7557 (released in 2015). I have not had any issues with either laptops. I had bad experience with Lenovo IdeaPads, but no issues with Lenovo ThinkPads.

I am exactly the opposite... 2 Lenovos are still strong despite 1 has failing hdd and battery after 3 years of daily use. The other one only has hdd failing after 3 years also. I could be unlucky...

@ OP

A side note, Dell warranty is pretty good as they will fedex a fedex box to you and you can mail it back by fedex for them to repair. It took 1 week for the whole process which I think pretty fast. Purchase it with an AMEX card if you can and enjoy 1 year extended warranty.
