So I just bought a used 5.1 home theater system and I released that my tv does now have an RCA output (Samsung smart TV) it only has a 3.5mm Jack and a optical audio out while my home theater system (because it's a bit older) only has a RCA phono input. My question is what type of convert am I looking for that will allow for 5.1 sound instead of only 2.1. I know if I run a 3.5mm to RCA I will only get 2.1 but it seems that almost all the converters that conversation digital optical to RCA only allow for 2.1 aswell. Is there any converters that will allow for 5.1 sound of is that even possible. If it is what specifications am I looking for with a converter or do people have suggestions for what to purchase to fix my little predicament.
