I have a Lenovo Flex 2-15D. It has been making a constant rattling noise, the volume fluctuates. It starts as soon as its powered on and does not stop until its shut down. It's also heating up and running very slow. I cleaned the fan but it didn't help.

I attached audio of the sound its making. I'm hoping someone knows this noise. Could this be my fan or hard drive needing to be replaced?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Are you able to open the case up and see the fan and make sure that, when it is booting up, nothing is hitting the fan and that the noise is continuing despite that? If so, then you very well may be having a hard drive that is...

To me, that sounds like a wire or cable is hitting the blades of your fan. The increase in tempo is because the fan speed is going up and down according to how much cooling it needs to provide. To be sure, I need to get a little bit more information. When did this noise start? Have you recently opened the laptop up? If you opened it up, you may have moved something that is now hitting the fan.

It started about a month ago. I did not open it up until after the noise started when I cleaned the fan.
