Ever connected an LG LCD to a LG sound bar via HDMI?

Maybe I misunderstood, and this 65UJ6300 TV does not support a HDMI connection to a sound bar.

Back of the TV has an optical output. It also has HDMI 1, HDMI 2 (ARC), and HDMI 3.

The LG SJ4Y sound bar has HDMI In (which I think is for portable device connections) and HDMI OUT (TV ARC).

I would assume to connect HDMI 2 (ARC) on the TV to HDMI OUT (TV ARC) on the sound bar, but I'm getting nothing. I have gone through the audio output options on the TV. The TV does not seem to recognize the sound bar.

Maybe there is supposed to be something called HDMI OUT on the TV, though I thought HDMI was a two-way connection.

I suppose I could just do optical.

I get sound if I connect via optical, but I thought this TV and sound bar both supported HDMI. I thought HDMI was the preferred connection these days.

Having a hell of a time getting the TV's remote to control the sound bar. Complicating matters is that there is no real manual for this equipment, not even online.

And for 300 watts, this thing is NOT very loud.

Thank you. We did that, and audio began transmitting via HDMI.

Now I'm wishing I had spent the money for better speakers. This is a small step up from the speakers built into the TV. There is more mid-range; dialogue is clear. But the bass is about nonexistent. When watching a movie, the sound is entirely underwhelming.
