So my boyfriend spilled beer on my laptop and now the keys on my keyboard are sticky and need to find a way to clean them without ruining my laptop. Any suggestions would help. Thank you

I have a Lenevo idealpad 310.

Solution
a foam called spunk (where im from) - anti-static foam cleaner

method: laptop off
spray a small amount of foam cleaner onto keyboard
using edge of kitchen roll paper (toilet paper will disintegrate) between the keys to soak up cleaner and some beer.
repeat foam and kitchen roll paper until keys free of sticky (this wil take a lot of time if the beer has been dry for a long time)

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to clean a laptop keyboard. Most laptops don't have keyboards where you can remove the key and clean the switch, therefore you would need to replace the keyboard. This involves deep disassembly of the laptop. Sorry about that, he should buy you a new laptop.

^^Poor advice. Depending on the laptop, it may not require "deep disassembly." My HP Pavilion G7 for example just requires the top part of the cover to be removed. If your boyfriend is a tinkerer, or you know of some guy who is, he can go to your laptop's website, pull up the maintenance manual of it, and see how to remove the keyboard for cleaning (soak in hot mild soapy water and let it air dry for a day or two). Another option is to just buy a replacement keyboard for that laptop. What make/model is it?

^^More poor advice. If you want to clean a laptop keyboard from a sugary beverage, you need to remove it. Or replace it. Those are the only two safe options for real results. For the record, I spilled beer on one of my Playstation 4 controllers causing some of the top buttons to be sticky. The only fix was taking the entire thing apart and washing the buttons and casing. Beer has sugar in it, and just surface cleaners will not fix the problem.

Honestly, I'm amazed that laptop still works. Laptop keyboards are porous and liquids can drip between the keys down to internal components.
