I doubt it. At some point your chrome settings may have been changed to include these webpages into your startup page settings. In Chrome, click the three dot button in the top right corner, and click settings. Under "On Startup," select to open a new tab, or to open where you last left off. Or you can just change the list of pages to open whatever page you want when you launch the browser.

If, after checking your Chrome settings like Guyinacorner suggested, chrome is still opening unwanted tabs then I'd say run a good anti-malware program. Something may have just put some hooks in. Malwarebytes is the go to for a good free program. Also it doesn't hurt to run an anti-virus check to be sure. You do have an anti-virus right?

This just happened to me and i fixed it by download malwarebytes (trusted program and antivirus) here is the website;https://www.malwarebytes.com simply click on free and install the program, then run a scan and delete all the threats when done, also click on windows search and search add or remove program and remove programs you think are causing the virus. If i helped you please give me a upvote hope i solved your problem! -Carter

It could be something like an adware/browser hijacker. It's usually nothing to worry about but as you might have already noticed, it can be a little bit annoying.

If you are indeed infected by one, then you should be able to easily remove it by using an Anti-Malware. I personally use MalwareFox. It has a free trial so you really have nothing to lose.

If it doesn't detect anything, then chances are that you or one of your programs messed around with the Chrome startup/home settings which is something that you can easily fix from the settings tab.
