Hi,
I have an asus vivobook a550vx-dm660t
Intel core i5 7300hq quad core 2.5ghz turbo up to 3.5ghz
8gb RAM
Nvidia gtx 950m 2gb gddr5
Windows 10 64bit
SSD 256GB
I mostly play battlefield 4. I am wondering can I use nvidia inspectore to overclock the GPU or is the gpu too weak? And if I overclock the gpu, will it get damaged because of the extra heat? And how do I know if my laptop has good cooling?

Solution
Your second assumption is correct. Overclocking internal gpu is almost always a bad idea as the heat is likely to send your mobile GPU to an early grave.

Yes, you can. The best way to try overclocking is to test different frequencies (small input at first) whether in GPU or memory or both and then test it while gaming, if the temperature is too high than the usual, then you should decrease the clock, or if you find "artifacts" while gaming you'll know you surpassed the limit of what your video card can take and you need to reduce the clock. You'll know how good your laptop cooling by testing, there's no other way to know... I also suggest researching about overclocking because there's always a risk, although as far as I've been reading the risk is always about the heat.
If you play your games while overclocked in under or about 80ºC you are fine, if it goes higher than 85ºC then I suggest reducing the overclock.
