Good day all, I am looking for a budget gaming laptop and came across the following two options.
Which one would be the best?

MSI GS43VR 6RE - Intel i5-6300HQ with GTX 1060 6GB.
or
MSI GP62MVR 7RFX - Intel i7-7700HQ with GTX 1060 3GB.

RAM on both are the same @ 8GB.

Basically wondering if the older generation i5 would have that much of an impact on gaming performance? Know most games are more GPU dependant for gaming.

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
The difference in CPU performance between a 6th and 7th gen Intel CPU is rather minor.

The difference between an i5 and i7 CPU is the i7 has Hyper Threading (HT) which allows each CPU core to execute two threads of instructions rather than just one. The vast majority of games (probably 99.9% if not higher) do not use HT. The only games I am aware of that benefits from HT are Overwatch and I believe Rainbow Six.

If you are simply playing games, then the i5 will be fine. If you plan on streaming / recording gameplay, the get the i7 because video encoding programs can make use of HT.
