I reset my computer and it deleted all of the game files on my computer. This was expected, but what wasn't is the all of the space used by said game files is still reported as being used. What is the cause of this, and how can I fix it? I'm relatively clueless with computers, but I am usually pretty good at following directions.

Yes, I had a .old folder. After continuing to mess around with permission - the cause of my PC breaking the first time - while also attempting to delete .old, I made the computer useless (i.e. the text disappeared on all of my icons, and nothing would open). Because of this I thought the only logical thing to do, since nothing I found online provided a solution, and I couldn't really do anything, was to reset it again. This second reset caused more issues in that the resetting window told me that it encountered an error, which it proceeded to do for the next few times I attempted to start my computer. At this point I could do nothing with my PC, and I ended up buying a new hard drive while they were on sale on Newegg. I have since restarted on that new hard drive.
