I keep hearing a clicking noise as if the optic drive wants to engage, but there is no disc in tray.

Toshiba Satellite P775 clicking noise but the tray is empty. Acts as if it wants to engage. Clicks about every few minutes or so.

Sounds like something is trying to access it. Have you cleaned out the drive to make sure it isn't just something stuck in there that is causing it to act like there is disk in it? It happens more than you might think. I would also suggest rebooting the computer, if you haven't recently.
