ASUS x555la. Bigger than the norm laptop. After boot up, unresponsive keyboard and touchpad. Stuck in flight mode. F2 bios reset to default already. I have got the data I need off the hard drive with a sata adaptor and the hd is now back in place so I am not worried about content.
I want to reformat and get the computer working again as I had already had to buy a smaller slower hp to get on with actually working- better though would be a quick fix.
I believe the problem has been caused by a 3rd party ‘auto update Your best driver’ one click type program (advanced system care- who in fairness to them I have used for the past 6 years without problems) and it has brought in bad drivers for the keyboard and touchpad. F2 bios responds on boot up. F9 or any other f apart from Esc doesn’t. Bluetooth keyboards don’t work. Wired keyboard and mouse don’t work.
Summary. Decent laptop. Boots well. Then is unresponsive. Main issue: Keyboard doesn’t work. Touchpad doesn’t work. External devices don’t work. As a laptop that isn’t the best.
F2 on bootup gets me to bios. No other fn buttons respond on boot. ASUS help said from INDIA - yes, try to save your data, if keyboard not working, we are out. Laptop less than a year old.
I am sure I have the windows 7 or 8 disc somewhere, but it was running on the w10 update and I am hoping one of you wizards out there will have some wisdom.
