The device is a 2-in-1 style, and it always turns itself to hibernation mode given the following circumstances:
The device is already in Sleep mode.
The device is not connected to a charger.
The device has been left with the previous two conditions for an undetermined set amount of time.

I've checked through all of the Windows settings for an option that might affect it to no avail.

I've also checked through the BIOS and there is no setting that mentions anything related to sleep mode doing this, in spite of the fact that I think the BIOS would not have the ability to transition directly to hibernation mode like this anyway.

I can't figure out why it keeps happening, and I would like to be able to turn my tablet on from sleep mode every time, rather than having to cold boot it every time I leave it for too long off the charger.

I'm not particularly worried about the hibernation thing, it just gets in the way sometimes when I want to do something and have to turn it back on.

To users with the S1003 series of Acer xxx 10 tablets, if you have this issue, BIOS update 1.16 seems to have fixed it for me after extensive daily use testing. I say xxx instead of One, because I think a few of the Acer Switch 10 tablets were also released under this model series.

Attempting a BIOS update from 1.13 to 1.16, the changelog says there were some changes to something with the boot, so I'm trying it out to see if it helps.

This functionality is called Hybrid Sleep in Windows, you can change the timer or disable it completely. This setting lives in the advanced power options settings of your current power plan.

This has a picture:

Didn't know that was what Hybrid sleep did. Also, While I can find Hybrid sleep on devices like my i7-5500U laptop, and usually disable it anyway, this device doesn't have that option in advanced power settings for some reason. I don't think it would be hybrid sleep anyway, considering that sometimes I can leave it for a minute and it'll happen, and sometimes I can leave it for thirty and be fine. I think that the BIOS update might have helped though, because after I flashed the newest, which apparently came out earlier this month, I've left it alone for about twenty-five minutes and it was fine, then took it with me on the go after work, and it was still fine. It's almost never kept through the ride between work/home. I'm not about to mark this as solved, I need to do more testing to be sure that it wasn't just a lucky break.
