I bought a Samsung smart tv a couple of years ago. For the first couple of months it connected to the internet no problem. Then it started doing the following:
Unable to connect to internet- won’t even bring up list of available networks
When it is connected the sound on the programme goes, followed by programme going slow and stopping. Get not enough broadwidth message
Tv not responding to remote control - changing channels, volume and switching tv off and on. It sometimes responds a few minutes later (very strange for visitors who think tv can switch itself on and off!)

I have tried changing dns to 8888 but this has no effect. Have checked for updates and updated.
Have had engineer out to check internet - he could find no problems.
Spent several days on the phone to Samsung where I got different information from each person I spoke to. Eventually, they decided there was nothing else to try so told me to call the engineer. I did this and was told there would be a (quite large) cost. The advisors I spoke to at Samsung neglected to tell me this!
Help - I don’t know what else to try and can not afford to buy a new tv.
