Hi there I'm running into quite a frustrating problem, my screen broke on my Lenovo IdeaPad u510
I ordered a replacement and swapped the screens. I got the Lenovo logo to show up but after that the screen is blank, it only displayed the Lenovo logo once and after that, on startup, it is just a blank screen.

The screen is receiving power, I can see the backlight come on but no display, I searched through the forums in order to find a solution but to no avail.

I have tried removing the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds in order to hard reset the computer/power drain it. I've updated drivers, checked that all the connections are sitting right.

To make matters worse I attempted a windows 10 upgrade, and during the middle of the install, the laptop stopped displaying to the external display.

Not sure what to do now any help would be appreciated

Solution
Have you gone back in and made sure the connections on both end (to the motherboard and to the display) were good and tight? If they weren't, then that could be the problem. It could also be the cable that connects it.

You may also want to try connecting an external monitor and see if it works. If it doesn't, and you can't get anything on that display either, then it may be the Graphics Card/GPU that has gone bad.
