hey so i got a acer aspire 6940 that suddenly didn't turn on, since its a old model i thought it was the charger because it was really damaged and when it was connected a green light was really tenuous and turning on and off, so i decided to buy another charger, it arrived and it was the same with the new charger so i decided to buy another battery and the same issue anyone has any idea what i can do?

Solution
The only other common denominator is the connection where the mains lead goes in. If it's been pushed in by the smallest amount, it may not be properly connecting to the charger.

If you feel up to it and you have an old bank card, a 2.5 Phillips screwdriver, and some paper you could have a go at checking that yourself. The paper is to mark the screw points in a diagram of the base. Put each screw on the appropriate part of the drawing when you take it because they may all look alike but sometimes they aren't.

The bank card is to ease the base from the palmrest and keyboard. Start on the front corner with the edge of the card at a 45° angle as you ease it into the gap.

Once you're in, check you can move the power socket back...

Once you're in, check you can move the power socket back into place. If you cant, take it to a repairer with a steady soldering iron hand.
