when I turn the computer on the logo comes up then goes to black screen with a white box that says enter password

I turn on the laptop and the toshiba logo comes up then in about 5 seconds a white box comes up stating Enter Password then if I put a password in then enter it comes up with a red box Verify error please ENTER to continue the you enter it goes back to white box then back to red then the third time it shuts the system down

There is no information where this may be coming from at all from the screen, if it was encryption it should tell you the program it's from. It may be a hard drive password or a virus. Need some details about how this started. You may want to take this to a local tech to look at.

Need full details about this password prompt, posting a picture of what it looks like will help. We can't help you bypass the password but should be able to sort out what is asking for it if it's not Windows. Some details about the issue may help, is this a new password that appeared on your system? Is it coming from Windows? Anything else on that box aside from the password field? Sounds like it may be a hard drive lock or maybe encryption.

It never goes to windows..also how would I post a picture to this ?
