Hi

I'm new to videoing with a DSLR and i currently have a 650D with a 50mm 1.8 STM.

The focus is super quick but it is still picked up on the built in mic. The videos come out a tad to shaky for my liking.

Could some recommend a one handed weighted stabiliser/gimbal for my camera and also a mic to attach to the cam.

Thanks!

The Rode Stereo VideoMic Is a great option, especially if you require stereo http://www.digibroadcast.com/sound-c63/microphones-microphone-kits-c90/shotgun-microphones-c163/rode-stereo-videomic-high-quality-stereo-microphone-p16542

And the CAME SINGLE is a really good one handed gimbal, that also includes encoders: http://www.digibroadcast.com/camcorders-c61/camera-gimbals-and-stabilisers-c73/came-single-3-axis-gimbal-camera-32bit-boards-with-encoders-p19909

I dont know what your budget is like, but i would stay away from the cheap gimbals, as they have a tendency to become un-calibrated very quickly, are very fragile, and will let you down very quickly.

Hope this helps.

Estimable
I second the Røde mic. Great value and pretty good sound. You can also use a longer cable and place the Mic closer to the sound for better results.
I don't use a gimble, I use a couple of tripods. Damped (fluid/oil) with a decent tilt-pan head for most video and a ball-head for less controlled scenarios.
