So i have a HP ProBook 640 i used during high school, which is now mine after finishing.

I now work as an IT Apprentice, and i am very much into computers, but i can't seem to figure this one out.

When finishing school, i forgot to give my laptop to the IT department at the school, it just gathered dust in the shelves for a couple months. Now i want to install a new OS on the computer and use it for other purposes.

I got the BIOS password, and i created a USB Flash Device for reinstalling. However, the USB does not show up as a boot option in the F9 Menu. I only get the harddrive and the network boot.

I've tried resetting the BIOS, and restoring it, but nothing works. And yes, i have tried to tweak boot options... Anyone who knows what might cause this, and how to reset?

Solution
Did you check the BIOS to make sure the USB hard drive is showing up in the boot options and not excluded? Try another USB stick to make sure yours is good? Test your boot stick on another computer to make sure it is actually working?
