A friend of mine ask if i can fix his laptop wherein after 15 secs or more, it just shut down. I tried to remove the hard drive and its dvd drive and the same things happen even after i clean and re-paste the cooling fan has no change, still shutdowns. I decided to bypass the fan on 5volt line still nothing happen. He said that her neice left it on a blanket and troubles starts due to bad exhaust. It was way back 3 years.
But by chances it boots up for an hour then die.
And i take some temp readings that the cpu are having 35-60°c
And the gpu was 52-56°c
Is there another way to get it back to normal use?
By the way here's the model
INSPIRON N4030
CPU INTEL i3
Ram 4gb

Solution
I fixed a HP laptop which did exactly the same thing, turned out to be dust, also the dust even caused the fan to cease turning but with some elbow grease I got the laptop back on its feet and using core temp was able to see things were now in a healthy state. I recommend not turn on the laptop at all until you check for dust and do some cleaning if needed and check thermal paste on cpu. In some rare cases laptops cpu may not have thermal paste but one can use some provided its not diamond type thermal that can scratch the cpu.

Before opening up the laptop check some youtube videos etc if you are not tech savvy otherwise find a get the help of someone you trust, if its really is dust I personally think if one takes adequate...
