Maximum operating temperature?

What temperatures should I start to worry about with my MacBook Pro 13" 2017? When installing a game, League of Legends, the CPU stays at 70 degrees Celsius and the fan gets pretty darn loud. Is 70 harmful over extended periods of time? Or nothing to worry about? Under normal use it stays at 30-40.

The i5-7360U inside your Macbook has a maximum operating temperature of 100 °C before the cpu shuts itself down to avoid damage.

70 °C should be fine if that's as high as you go.

MacBook Pro laptops run hot. Yours actually doesn't sound like it's being fully loaded if it's only hitting 70°C.

As far as longevity is concerned, so long as you are not inhibiting the cooling it does have in any way, or operating it under extreme conditions, and the cooling has not been in use long enough to require service, you can have reasonable expectations that it will live out it's warranty period.

Here is a database you can consult if you want to compare reported temperatures of different Macs. You can filter it by MacBook Pro if you desire. As you will see if you look, some MacBook Pros get up to 85°C, some 95°C, and some even reach 100°C.

While this may be fine for Apple, personally, if I had a machine that routinely ran it's CPU that hot, I would manually take control of the cooling fans myself, and if that wasn't enough I would purchase a laptop cooling pad.
