I would like to purchase a Dell inspiron 15 5555 but i want to make sure it can run my sims games. i have all of the sims games but i figured that if it can run the latest game smoothly that it can play all the others.
here are the specs for this laptop:
8 GB RAM,
1 TB HDD
AMD Radeon R5 series Graphics card.
AMD A8 processor

I could really use the help in figuring out if i should get this laptop, or have any recommendations for an affordable laptop for collage that can also play games.

Solution
It can play, but not really well. I recommend you look at a budget laptop with a Core i3-7100u CPU and the Intel HD 620 graphics core which can easily outperform a laptop with an AMD A8-7410 APU and Radeon R5 (Beema/Carrizo-L) graphics core which is less powerful than the Intel HD 4000 graphics core from 2012.

I recommend the 15.6" Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM with the i3-7100u, 4GB of RAM and 1080p screen for $350. I also recommend you install another stick of RAM (4GB or 8GB). More RAM means Windows does less caching between physical RAM and the hard drive; caching also...

More RAM means Windows does less caching between physical RAM and the hard drive; caching also causes the laptop to lag while it is moving data back and forth. Additionally, having two sticks of RAM means the RAM will operate in dual channel mode rather than single channel mode. This can improve integrated graphic performance by 5% to 15% (or more) depending on the game.
