Hi,

Hdmi port of my laptop stopped working. When connected to TV it displays no signal and laptop also not detecting second monitor or display. Tried different cables but nothing worked. when same cables used with other laptops they worked fine. Tested with different cables and displays but nothing worked.

In device manager under display adapter it is showing nvidia ge force gtx 970m but under monitors there is only one generic pnp monitor.

Also tried various troubleshooting option mentioned below.

While the TV is connected in your laptop, press the Windows key + P at the same time and select between Extended or Duplicate display and see if it will work. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help if the first step will not work.
- Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Intel graphics driver.
- Next is to check Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to Intel graphics.

please help me in solving this issue.

Thanks

Im not sure what is causing it. Maybe its somthing in windows settings preventing the monitor do you have bit defender antibirus if so disable the firewall of that program and retry? If you dont have that program just look through windows settings and look through each setting just incase you find somthing.

Do you have razer synapse installed by any chance? That causes major issues like this have you tried booting the pc from a cd? Is it only not working on a tv? If so the settings for the tv have been reset or "frozen" in mid transfer with the hdmi cable it happened to me before. If it works on another monitor with the same hdmi cable then its either the driver is not installed for that specific tv or there has been an updated driver which is no longer compatible which is unlikely. If its not the driver then trying to unfreeze the transfer of hdmi is the method above. You have to get the monitor and pc powered on at a very specific time. When the tv boots and you know its searching for connections thats when you got to power the laptop on. Took me a while to get it done but in the end it worked.

No razer synapse is not installed. Laptop is booting perfectly... Why to try to boot from CD?

Actually it is not working with any TV and any cable.

Tried connecting TV with other laptop it worked perfectly. After all these troubleshooting the problem is in laptop hdmi port or something in laptop but i have no idea on how to find it.

If you want me to do any more tests please tell and help me in finding solution.

Can you explain again so how exactly? You disable them both and then enable or what?

I have the same problem with my ASUS a405u.. it just suddenly crashed through using it, I’ve completed all updates, driver and windows but still no luck. It’s not the wire as I’ve tried it on other devices.
Still searching for a solution.
