Maybe the wireless faacility has been accidentally switched off. If you see one of the Function keys with a wi-fi logo on it, try pressing that with and then without holding down the Fn key to the left of your spacebar. That might turn it back on.

If you need to post back, please tell us the precide make and model of your laptop. Some have physical wi-fi on/off switches on the front or side.
