Hello I'm pretty new to working with computers but love tinkering so after upgrading my probook 6470b with a i7 3840qm I'm looking to do the same with my dell m6600. From what I've found online the 3840qm isn't listed as being supported with the m6600 but the socket will accept the CPU so what I've been wondering what are the worst possible scenarios that could happen with installing a non supported CPU in a laptop and what could I do to fix those problems if anything. If the task seems to hard I'll end up installing a 2920xm as that's the fastest CPU ive been able to find that's supported. Thanks for the help and if you know of a faster CPU supported with the m6600 I'd be interested. The price of the CPU isn't really a problem as I have a decent connection to used parts
