Hello all,
Are the Lenovo Thinkpad E470 or E570 any good?
I'm thinking buying one of them but I just can't choose the screen size because I have never had a laptop in my life only a desktop. I really like them but I'm just not sure about their quality. Reviews in others sites seem fine.
These are the specs for each:

E470: http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_E470?M=20H1004S**
E570: http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_E570?M=20H5006T**

Anyhow I will just leave the questionnaire here if you guys have more suggestions:

1. What is your budget?
<800 Euros about 600-700 dollars here (taxes)

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
14'' or 15.6'' help me decide.

3. What screen resolution do you want?
1920x1080 IPS matte

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Yes I have a nice desktop (medium-high performance)

5. How much battery life do you need?
6+hours

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
No.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
I will use virtual machines occasionally so RAM is needed. VM's of windows server, linux etc etc
Coding.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
256GB SSD for starting is good. My objective is to upgrade in the future.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
N/A

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
5+ years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
No optical drive needed.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Like: Lenovo, Dell, HP Others: I'm fine with them.

13. What country do you live in?
Portugal, but that doesn't matter because you can say the model of the laptop and I will verify the price if it is under <800€.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Starting CS degree soon, the laptop will have to last 5+ years so upgradability is important.
The style of the laptop must be somewhat professional. I really don't like flashy lights like you see on the gaming laptops. All black like Lenovo's Thinkpads is nice. Also, must be a recent model. A nice keyboard for coding and typing for long hours would be a nice to have perk.
