Good morning lovely people,
I have an Asus Fc55cl notebook and ever since I personalised it and took off some programmes it doesn´t want to read Dvd´s. I have a bad feeling I have wiped out the dvd reading programme. Do I have to go back to manufacturing standards?

Depending on the operating system, you can't really 'remove' the driver for the optical drive. It's built into the OS as part of the storage adapter driver. It's possible you may have removed a part of something else that's causing the optical drive not to work. Do a system restore from the time you did those changes. Windows will sometimes create restore points when you make software changes, like modifying/removing them. Start there.

I think I have already tried this, I will try again. As this happened last year and I have only gotten round to try and sort it out now.
Thank you for your suggestion.
