So I've been struggling to get this combo to work with my PC and am on the verge of giving up on it. I currently have a Vizio Soundbar hooked to my PC through a Digital Optical cable (Toslink). My soundbar has the sub-woofer hooked to it with a cord that came with it (not quite sure what cord it is tbh). This setup worked when I was in my old house when it was hooked to my TV, but now that I want it for my PC, it doesn't work. I'm not sure if its just a software config error or what, but I'm stumped. Audio was never my best area! The sound to the soundbar works fine, but there is nothing going to the sub-woofer. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure, maybe I don't fully understand the article. As I said, I'm not good with audio so there may be some things that are going over my head. In that article, Zlimvos says that it was his player settings. I dont use any of the things he mentions, and there are no options available to me to use 5.1. Is VLC like and audio driver type thing such as Realtek?

Well I unhooked everything, hooked it back up, uninstalled the audio driver, and reinstalled it and now it works... Not sure what fixed it, but it works now. Apologies for taking up your time! Thanks for the help though

Sounds like by reinstalling you changed your default playback device. If you right click on your speaker Icon you can select sound playback through HDMI, Digital SPDIF (which is your optical out), Stereo, or whatever devices you have hooked to your PC for sound. I change mine all the time depending on where I want the sound to come out.
