I know this probably isn't the ideal website for this question, but I'll give it a shot.

I use Vegas Movie Studio 13 platinum to edit all my videos and I'm trying to figure out how to edit a video clip by making it overlay another video clip but also making it move around the background video clip.
It almost looks like it is being dragged around the screen

(an example would be like having a green screened gun from CS-GO to be held by someone in a separate clip but they are moving their arms around a lot.)

I try to find how to do this online, but no matter what i search nothing seems to come up of what I want.

If you need clarification on what i'm asking, please ask because I'm not sure how in detail I need to be for someone to know what I'm talking about.

Even if you have some idea on what it's called, please let me know so i can look it up
Thanks!

If I understand you correctly you want to be able to set the parameters to make the background video move and not be stationary. I do not use Vegas so I can't give specific instructions but in Adobe Premiere to do something similar to what you are asking, if I understand correctly, would involve using key frames and changing the position settings. You would want to set key frames to control the movement.

The keyword search you might want to use is "animating images with Vegas 13" or "animation with keyframes Vegas 13" or "Vegas 13 animating with key frames".

By reading your question description, I can understand that you want to overlay one video clip on another video clip. If I am correct this youtube tutorial might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncYMvzBq68E.

Hope it helps, greeting :)

I know how to overlay clips and all the simple stuff. I want to do what that video shows, but make it move around the screen manually how I tell it to.
