I am buying a gaming laptop for university and I am stuck between two laptops:

MSI GT73VR Titan Pro
i7-6820hk
gtx 1080
512GB SSD Super Raid 4
1TB HDD
2400 32GB DDR4 (overkill)
17.3" 120Hz

PC Specialist Octane III
i7-7700(k)
gtx 1080
256GB Samsung SM961
1TB WD Black HDD
2400 16GB DDR4
17.3" 120Hz

Both are similarly priced and have good IO
According to YouTube reviews, cooling and temperatures are pretty decent on both. I'm not too concerned about SSD sizes as a 1TB HDD is included but your opinions may change that. The ram difference doesn't really affect performance but how much will the CPU affect it? For Octane, there is an option for me to get either a 7700 or a 7700k.

Solution
The biggest difference (that'll impact gaming) there are between the CPUs.

The 6820HK is a true "mobile" CPU, and has a base of 2.7GHz, boosting to 3.6GHz.

The i7-7700K by comparison (if you truly can get a desktop 'K' class CPU in a laptop) is 4.20GHz base, 4.5GHz boost.

Gaming, from a CPU perspective, still sees the best performance from strong, highly clocked cores. So the 7700K would win out.

Beyond that, there's tradeoffs to each. Looking at the MSI, the "super raid 4" is RAID 0, which is only really "worthwhile" for improved performance.......but doesn't really apply to SSDs for standard use cases (like gaming). I can't even fathom why they'd even offer that.
