Solved! Won't start with new graphics card

Alienware m15x laptop turns on normally but turns of after about 5 seconds only happens with new graphics card. Don't have a battery or proper charging cable

Well you have several issues here, "new graphics card", is it different than what it came with? Do you know if it will work with that model if you changed it? Or did you change it because of some issue with the system. And not having the proper charger can be an issue since the one you are using may not provide enough power to a gaming laptop.

I got a proper charger now how ever same problem. The new graphics card is a 6870m that I got for next to nothing I changed it because the old gpu was failing

Was that the same card model that was in the system before? I take it that's a used card, it may be bad.
