This is a reoccurring problem in any game I play. Everything will be running smoothly then suddenly my game will freeze for a few seconds (it differs every time) and then go back to normal. I guess a few things to note are:
- All sound goes completely silent
- Whatever key I last pressed gets held down for the duration of the freeze

I've determined that it's not a problem with overheating as I even lowered all my settings and set the fps max to 60 in games that I normally run at 120 fps on max and the problem still occurs. I suspect that it might be a problem with my audio driver as there was another thread with a similar problem and that seemed to be the issue but this has been happening for the whole duration I've had this laptop and I've been keeping my drivers updated. Also, nothing shows up on windows event viewer. Graphics drivers are also regularly updated.

Specs (Gigabyte p34w v5 laptop):
- I7-6700HQ
- GTX 970M
- 8GB DDR4
- Mobile Intel HM170 Express Chipset
- Windows 10 64-bit

This is on a laptop and I do believe that if it was some PSU failure then the effects would be a lot more catastrophic than the occasional freeze.
