Hi all,

I am having trouble with my Lenovo Edge 2 laptop. I turn it on and I get a loop of "preparing automatic update" and "please wait while we install updates" with no change. I read this thread:

http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2327280/laptop-stuck-preparing-automatic-repair-loop-lenovo-year-idk.html

However it's a bit outdated and I have Windows 10. I tried using the Novo button and entering System Recovery and exiting, but to no avail.

I'm wondering if there's any other way I can repair my files through OneKey without factory resetting the laptop. I would rather not lose all my data if possible.

Your best shot is to press thw power button as it sharts to power up and keep doing that every you reboot. Sooner or later it wll pop up with StartUp Repair options and one of those will lead you to a Command form.

At the Prompt, type
c:\windows\software distribution\downloads
and hit the Enter key. Once in that folder type
del *.*
hit Enter again then type Exit and the form will close.

Back in the Options page, try Start Wndows 10 and see if that helps. Other possibilities are available if it doesn't.
