Hello there,

I've been reading many enquiries similar to mine but i don't have a blu ray or sky box so am struggling to find an answer that helps me, but apologies if the answer is already out there.

So, I have a Fujitsu plasmavision, an old one without internal speakers (or its own external ones). It has 1 HDMI port, no USB, an RGB and 2 RCA sockets (I think - the red and white ports)
I have a QED switcher with 4 HDMI ports, 1 HDMI out.
I have a Sony DA1200es amp hooked up to 5 KEF speakers with a million input and output options at the back - HDMI, video, component video, s video - the works. The speakers work as I can get sound using the tuner.

I have 2 good quality HDMI cables, plenty of RCA cables some dual, some to jack. I have a coaxial cable, I have minijacks, I have loads more.

Thing is I don't know how to get sound from my chromecast (Netflix) out of the speakers. The picture is fine and I can stream no problem casting from my iPad. But as there's only 1 HDMI port on the TV I presume I need to keep that one free now so do I plug the chromecast into the switch or into the amp? Which cables/option do I use to link the TV to the stereo? I've tried so many combinations but to no avail.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you VERY much :)

I would suggest you replace the HDMI switcher with one that has audio extraction like this one.

Connect all your sources (including the Chromestick) to it. HDMI out to TV. Optical audio out to receiver. Set the switch to 5.1
That will give you digital surround sound that you can't get with the analog output of the TV. You will need to set up the receiver to use the optical input. The input menu would be where you assign the connection to an input name. Set the surround mode of the receiver to Auto or Dolby.

Ps I now can watch Netflix using the switcher but no sound. I have 1 hdmi cable from the tv to the switcher. The other hdmi to the back of the Sony amp. Should this deliver sound? So far it doesn't, but if it should, all I need to do is play around more with the input settings. But so far it's silent.
