I'm over at my friends house and we have tried both our ps4 and Xbox on on his giant TV
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KH7NBI4/?tag=dislag-20
Specifically this model
And of course all I brought over are FPS games, but on both consoles we have input lag( controller) it's almost impossible to play multi-player games, even campaigns were painful. we went upstairs and tried his 34" TV felt fine (Xbox one)
I have tried to look around in the settings but nothing seems to fix it
We are not too far away, I even tried up close, tried different ports, different HDMI cords, anyone have any idea what's the deal?

UPDATE:
1. 73ms input lag is BAD (though there's no discussion on WHICH picture mode that applies to as there IS a game mode)
https://displaylag.com/lg-samsung-sony-input-lag-results-4k/

2. I see a FIRMWARE update for that HDTV.
Under Settings->Etc
There is an update section. If it's set to automatic it probably updated already. You can tell it to check to confirm if it is up to date.

3. *Okay, found where "GAME MODE" is listed. It is under:

Settings-> Picture Settings-> Picture Mode->

(also seems to be under Quick settings)

That should minimize video processing and reduce input latency.

(I'm not sure how you individually choose settings for each HDMI input though, such as GAME MODE for one and "Cinema" perhaps for BluRay/DVD)...

You might try enabling the screen's "game mode" if one is available...

https://displaylag.com/how-to-enable-game-mode-on-your-hdtv/

If there isn't a specific gaming mode, you might try disabling various post-processing image enhancements, and see if that improves the input lag.

1) As said, attempt to find game mode, though there MIGHT be some settings that help.

2) *If you have "Motion Smoothing" enabled disable this. It adds a LOT of lag as it must buffer several frames to analyze then create an extra frame that fits in between two real ones.

(BTW, even if you had a gaming PC it would still show 60FPS if locked with VSYNC since all this processing is internal to the HDTV. So it's a 60Hz/60FPS signal that turns into a 120Hz/120FPS on the actual HDTV)

This feature should only be used for SPORTS as it makes movies and even TV shows look incorrect. Movies especially since the motion blur is calibrated to the FPS (the lower the FPS the higher the blur as our brains internally get saturated with data. If the data is low enough such as lower FPS we add blur so it "works out" in our heads to look as realistic as possible).

3) If neither solution seems to work then the 4K video processor in the HDTV may be just too slow.

4) I believe the XBOX ONE S has an option to scale to 4K internally (UHD mode?) which sends a 4K signal rather than a 1080p HDTV signal that the HDTV upscales.

That may or may not help for latency though there MAY be a visual difference.

**MOTION SMOOTHING is by using the Sports/Soccer mode.

The USER GUIDE didn't work well in EDGE but worked fine in Google Chrome. If you don't have a physical manual you can download it, EXTRACT it, then run "userguide.html" to launch in Chrome (may need to right-click and tell to launch with Chrome).
