Solved! Black Screen of Death...can't find ram or cmos in laptop

What happened: I went out with my laptop on and when i came back, it had a black screen and a dead battery. I assumed the charger was fried because i had spilled liquid on the charger the night before (it worked for a while after). After getting a new charger, my laptop would charge and turn on (the light showing it was on would come on, i could hear the harddrive, the charging light would come on, etc) but the actual screen remained dark. I'm not even sure if the backlight is coming on; i think it's not. Whenever i turn it on, it turns on for a second, turns off briefly (i hear the same "click" i usually hear when i turn off my laptop from the power button and the power light goes off) and then turns on again by itself and stays on.

What I tried: I tried doing the thing where you take the battery and plug out and hold down the power button (i tried 30 secs, 1 min and two minutes). I tried taking the battery out and keeping the charger plugged in for a while. I tried an external monitor and it recieved no signal, even when i pressed the button to switch to an external monitor. I tried accessing the bios with f2, f12, esc and del. I tried to flash a new bios via usb and holding fn+esc (the fan came on loudly for few seconds as if it were trying, but it would turn off and restart and nothing would happen. I tried opening up the laptop and unplugging the screen and then hooked it up to an external monitor again. Still nothing.

After doing some reading i see many people with the exact same symptoms solve it by removing ram from slots that have gone bad, or by doing something with their cmos battery. However when i opened the laptop I don't see anything that looks like a round, flat battery or a battery at all, and i dont see any ram slots which is weird. It may be that I'm not recignizing it because I really don't know anything about computers. I have an Acer V3 572g 54l9
