Roku Premiere + to older (2002) Sony TV

Trying to find a way to connect a Roku Premiere + to either component video or DVI with audio.

Will this work?

Is there something better that won't cost a lot, but still deliver good picture quality?

It might work. Roku's are picky over their copyright protection handshake. When I had one, I would get the purple screen a lot meaning it can't establish the HDCP connection even though I had everything good. Had to swap out a couple of cables to get a good connection.

If you want the best picture out of the Roku get an HDMI to DVI plus audio converter like this one.

The other option is to use a Roku Express+ that has AV outputs. No HD though.

I did find out my TV is actually 2003 and has DVI digital. Someone at You DO It Electronics (Needham, MA) said there should be options with DVI digital, so if the HDMI tpo DVI cable I bought at Amazon (link below) doesn't work

then I will try You Do It.
I am currently running a component video out/in from cable box to TV, and the picture is pretty darn good. (Not perfect)
