Hi, I’m sorry if this is dumb or I am posting in the wrong place, but I am trying to set up a home audio system and don’t know where to start.
For a new entertainment room, we have:
*TV (Samsung Smart TV) with
*A sound bar with bass (Bose Soundtouch 300 and Acoustimass 300)
*4 speakers (Bose Virtually Invisible 791)
*2 speakers for the patio outside (Bose 251)
*A wireless router
Everything is brand new.
We want:
*To be able to watch TV and hear it through the sound bar, but sometimes also hear it through the speakers.
*Be able to listen to Spotify, anyone's iPhone, or any other music service we want.
*Control everything wirelessly, preferably through wifi and an app.
*Have the option to connect things through bluetooth
*Be able to select speakers (2 in bar area, 2 in living area and 2 outside on patio). Sometimes listen to the 4 inside, sometimes all 6 and sometimes only 2.
I have no idea what kind of amplifier to get (Audio or A/V). Basically I would like something that is as easy as a SONOS system, but don’t want to have to buy the sonos speakers since everything I just bought is brand new.
We also want to hook up a satellite system (DirecTV), a gaming console and maybe a computer. But I figure I can connect all those to the TV, which has many HDMI ports.
We have a similar setup in our living room, but we made the mistake of hooking it up to a Denon AVR-1912, which is great, but as it is a home theater receiver, we had a lot of trouble listening to music from TV (or any other source) on all speakers. It is somehow made for surround sound and we had to spend a lot of money on having someone come and set it up the way we wanted. There is still no way to select speakers.
I hope I explained myself correctly and that there exists an amplifier that does everything I need.
