I recommend you look at the Dell Inspiron 15 7559. It has a quad core i5-6300HQ CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and a GTX 960m for $715. There is an empty 2.5" bay for another hard drive or SSD, as well as an empty RAM slot. Based on average daily usage (no games), it can last about 6.5 hours depending on what you do.

The newer version of it is the Dell Inspiron 15 7567 with a quad core i5-7300HQ and GTX 1050, but it will have a TN panel screen for $800...

The newer version of it is the Dell Inspiron 15 7567 with a quad core i5-7300HQ and GTX 1050, but it will have a TN panel screen for $800. There is an option for a higher quality IPS panel screen, but that is only available for the $999 model (which has an i7-7700HQ and GTX 1050 Ti) for an additional $50. Battery life is about 8 hours based on average daily usage.

Here's a review with the TN panel screen. I think Dell offered the IPS screen as an option sometime in late May.
