Hey guys,

I have a Dell Latitude E6520 here are the specs:

CPU: i7-2760QM

Memory: 8 gigs

Storage: 250 gig Samsung SSD

Graphics: Nvidia NVS 4200M

the rest of the specs are normal dell OEM stock.

This is my question. Can someone who owns or has a good bit of experience with this laptop post up ,or show me screen shots on how to optimize settings so I can get atleast 40 FPS on low settings while playing Heroes of the Storm? I understand that this is not a gaming rig but according to the system requirements this laptop should be able to easily run that game. I've tried changing the graphics settings to run everything on the Nvidia NVS 4200M chip as opposed to running everything off of the CPU but that doesn't seen to make a difference, i've only been able to get 10 FPS in an all BOT game. I've also went through the BIOS to make sure that none of the CPU cores are turned off. The Google god has run out of answers for me, please help. Thank you.

I just discovered something crazy on accident. I just powered up my laptop and played Heroes of the Storm with my laptop running on battery alone. I was getting 35-60 FPS which is amazing compared to the 5-10 FPS I was getting with the laptop plugged in. I plugged in my laptop to the charger and the FPS dropped back down to 5-10 FPS. What do you think about this? What settings do I need to change in order for my laptop to run Heroes of the Storm with my laptop plugged in? Thank you again.

Dude, look at the power supply with the wire and the batteries.
In Windows 10, in the search for settings, enter Power supply and press and you will see everything. Most likely a problem in this.

This may be late, but it kinda sounds to me that your laptop is running the game on the integrated graphics by default, rather than the dedicated graphics. I think you can change it from the NVIDIA control panel.

ajbarlinge is right about the nividia control panel. See if it is set to play the game on the nividia gpu rather than the intel gpu. Also a reason why the fps is higher can be due to the charger as when a laptop battery charges, it produces heat which is not detected by your temp software. This could be throttling your cpu and gpu.

Try what ajbarlinge said first, if that doesnt work then try to play the game without the battery if that is possible.
