Only the front 2 speakers of my Sony Home Theatre play while I'm using another device.

Okay I've been try to get this to work for a while and I've looked everywhere and tried everything that I can think of but still nothing works. I'll try to explain my set up as best I can, so first I have my BDV-E3100 Sony Blu-ray Disc / DVD Home Theatre System connecting in to my Toshiba 50L1350UC TV via a Optical digital cord (because my TV doesn't have a HDMI port with ARC). Whenever I do a test on the Home Theatre System it's self all the speaks work fine, but whenever I try to play anyone of my video game consoles only the front two speakers work. I tried different games to make sure that it wasn't because they could on do stereo but none of them worked. I've also briefly checked the system settings of the Home Theatre System and of the consoles them selfs but I still don't know what's going on, am I missing something obvious?

Hi, what mode have you got your A/V system set on? Just as a test, have you connected one of your consoles via optical digital connection, straight to the A/V receiver? If not, give it a go. Just remember to alter the sound output settings on the console first - for example, change the primary output port to “DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL),” and select “Bitstream (Dolby)” in the PS4 settings.

IF this works ok we can next take a look at the settings on your TV.

Let me know how you get on.
