Hey guys,
I'm going to buy an Asus laptop for my daily use. You know the usual stuff like surfing the web , watching movies and a little gaming every now and then. Which model would you suggest? is an i5 cpu good enough or should I go for an i7 ?
Thanks.

mid range budget. it's not for me and I dont think the person is very much into games.

Well that is not much information especially if it is not for you.

For average daily usage, there is no real difference between a Core i5 and Core i7 CPU. Be aware that Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs comes in either dual core or quad core variants. Naturally, the quad core versions are more powerful, but for average daily usage it may or may not make a difference.

Depending on what you mean by "mid range budget" the following Asus laptop with a Core i5-6200u and nVidia 940mx may be fine for $660.

The Asus laptop with the quad core i5-6300HQ and GTX 1080 recommended by dark_lord69 (link repeated below) is more powerful than the one I recommended especially for playing games. At $900 it is a really good value for the performance, but it may or may not fit a "mid range budget" since it costs $240 more.

You mean a 1060 as this can make a huge difference in performance.
