I have a sony vaio s series laptop and some keys stopped working. If my laptop has been shutdown for 8-10 hours then every key work for 5-10 minutes and then some keys stops working.

I have tried to clean my keyboard from outside with a vaccum cleaner and it worked for an hour and then same problem persists. What could the problem be?

Has your keyboard ever suffered a rage blow from gaming? it might be that the ribbon cable connected to the motherboard is out slightly and removing the ribbon cable by lifting the retainer or however the clasp works for you laptop and then reinstalling the ribbon cable could fix it, also look at the ribbon cable for broken tracks or bad contacts, or it could be a simple thing like a virus or malware do you use any antivirus? Try plugging in an external keyboard and see if you have the same problem that would tell you its a software problem.

external keyboard is working and I also opened and checked the laptop keyboard ribbon.
If my keyboard is broken how come all keys work for 5-10 minutes if laptop has been shutdown for a long time.

Good day.
It could still be a bad connection somewhere. Obviously when your laptop has been off that period of time or even an hour, the tracks or metal connectors shrink by a minute amount obviously not visible to the human eye but that happens. Once the laptop has warmed up for the 10 minutes, the metal has connectors/pins/tracks in some place would expand as metal expands with heat. So double check your connections and maybe repeat all connectors and check all the pins with mag glass if it looks bad/hair line cracks etc.
