Hello everyone, i want to buy a macbook mainly for some casual video and photo editing and media consumption. My sole reason for going the macbook route is Final Cut Pro and macOS experience (also i like the beautiful build quality of apple products). So i am going to be using the macbook for light editing because i already have an i7 and ryzen editing and gaming pc. So the main question is which one should i buy? In india we don't have the option to configure custom hardware so the choice is pretty much limited. I have the following models to choose from:

1. Macbook Pro 13" non touch bar ($1633)

2.3ghz dual core i5 (3.6ghz turbo)
128GB PCIe SSD ($249 EXTRA for 256GB option)
8GB 2133mhz RAM
Intel iris plus 640
2x Thunderbolt 3 ports

2. Macbook Pro 13" with touch bar ($2300)

3.1 ghz dual core i5 (3.5ghz turbo)
256GB PCIe SSD ($252 EXTRA for 512GB option)
8GB 2133mhz RAM
Intel Iris Plus 650
4x Thunderbolt 3 ports

Thanx for your precious time. Every suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you
Gagan

Personally I would go for the non touch bar and upgrade the ssd. Because it becomes much more expensive when you have a bar over there.if you already have a computer,pc , then why do you need to get another touch bar?but if you want to get the touch bar for design, then you would need to add up the money for it.
Graphic card is not THAT much of the difference, is not like GTX titan and gtx 960 or some thing.so it should not make a large difference.but now the 15" they have amd gpu already.atleast in Taiwan.. :)
If is for video editing, you might want to add more Ram into it because video editing recommends 16GB.and SSD is not as important because you still can work with a hard drive.the thunderbolt would be fast enough for you to do...

I know, india is expensive but seriously i can't afford the 512gb option because its too expensive. I included it just to see if it is worth that extra money and if i should wait and save some more money.

If you really want space, then you can even just buy a 1tb 7200 rpm hard drive and replace it.
but if you want to plug in a lot of drives you should consider to get some adaptor from thunderbolt to USB 3 or something like that.
Good luck . :)

If you want to expand your storage, you can go for mid 2012 laptop. Add an extra 4gb ram and replace the normal HD with 500gb SSD, if you are concerned on your storage. But if you are looking for a retina display model then there is no option of expanding the storage.:)
