Solved! Need help with laptop's internal mic problem.

it used to fine yesterday but now i cant use my earphones mic on my laptop anymore, when i tested it with a recording program, it uses the internal mic (i think, because it record noices from my typing better than my own voice). excuse my english and thanks in advance

did you check windows didnt reset itself? goto sound in control panel and check recording devices ... is your mic set as default recording device?

have you tried another external mic to check to see if your original one isnt faulty? cats and dogs like eating the foam heads that cover the mic ... just a possibility.

have you checked inside the mic socket? best when laptop is off. - if your mic is usb, then try another usb socket?

I have tried using another pair of earphones ( apple earphones).
also I'm using earphones so only 1 socket is plugged in.
update: i think i found the problem. thanks mate.:)
